the universe can be predicted and understood
a writing i made while coming down from lsd
written
the universe isn’t some black-box that is unknowable to us.
we
can learn to understand it.
societies started out without an understanding of anything
around us.
so we made our best guesses. we grasped at any explanation we
could find.
eventually we got ourselves on the right track.
after centuries, we’ve gotten to where we are today.
and as time goes on, we’ll find more fitting explanations of the
world.
we’ll eventually leave behind the fantastical, magical theories
of the past.
and get our grasps on an understanding of it all.
and with that understanding, we give ourselves power over it.
we can learn to change it, and wield nature in our favor.
to make the world better for all of us.
however, we’ll make mistakes along the way.
we’ll learn why nature did what it does.
we’ll upset the balances that once were, and then rush to fix
them.
and then use what we’ve learned, to improve our our
understanding further.
that’s how this all works. it’s rocky and confusing, but it all
works out in the end.
and we can get a better understanding of the chaotic systems
that rule the world.
why things, currently unknowable to us, just seem to work
out.
it seems like we’re all on some sort of path, currently
unknowable to us, and we have to do what seems right.
and i think eventually, we’ll learn how to understand why these
kind of things happen.
we’ll learn why these weird coincidences, these funny little
things,
seem to push us down some sort of specific path.
we’ll learn to understand the progressions of people’s lives.
and we’ll learn how to change them.
we’ll learn how to put people on a better track,
and have fewer people fall to terrible states, that happen when
systems fail.
we’re slowly working to make the world a better place.
we’re learning to take control of it, as we learn how these
previously unknowable things work.
and we’ll learn how to do this with things we currently don’t
know.
like what happens after death?
why do people seem to have these progression arcs, and beautiful
stories, that culminate in the life they end up living?
and how can we change that for the better?
we can, with time, take control over these unknowable forces.
and eventually, making mistakes along the way, learn to change
the courses of people’s lives for the better.
and i want to, in whatever way i can,
contribute to that.
helping make the world a better place,
through better understanding it.
